If you have vertigo, your whole world seems to spin around you, and the nearest object to you can suddenly become your only way to stay upright! The dizziness can become so severe that you experience sweating, nausea, or even vomiting. The good news is that Travis Chiropractic in Tulsa can help!
Vertigo is a common complaint, especially after head and neck trauma. It may come from problems in the inner ear, or from disturbances in pathways in the nervous system. Since chiropractic care focuses on freeing the pathways of the nerves in the spine and throughout the body, it is an excellent source of help for vertigo.
Contrary to popular belief, vertigo is more than just dizziness. Call Dr. Travis for a full examination if any of these symptoms accompany your dizziness:
There are different types and causes of vertigo. One type is caused by compression of nerves in the neck. A recent report in Livestrong had this to say:
“Your chiropractor will use manipulation targeting joints that are not moving properly. In the upper neck, faulty motion patterns create misinformation about body position and movement going from the joints to the brain. This type of vertigo, called cervicogenic vertigo, can be helped by chiropractic manipulation.”
Another type of vertigo stems from debris that has settled in the tubes of the inner ear. This debris often causes confusion to the hair-like sensors in the tubes resulting in vertigo. Chiropractic adjustments can be applied to move this debris around in the ear so that it no longer causes this nerve confusion, relieving your vertigo.
If you feel you may be suffering from vertigo, please do not hesitate to give us a call. Dr. Travis specializes in treating vertigo through gentle, holistic, drug-free chiropractic therapy.

We are in the office this week Monday - Wednesday normal hours 9:30 am - 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
We are going to be taking very careful measures to ensure your safety and health over the next few weeks. These measures include allowing our patients to stay in their vehicles while they wait for their turn to be treated.
Please call the office when you are in the parking lot (please not before) and we will call you back when we are ready for you. Of course, if you would like to come into the office as normal, this is perfectly acceptable as well.
We will also be bypassing the traction table treatments in order to streamline treatment and allow for further efficiency. Finally, we will be alternating patients in-between the normal adjusting room and the exam room, thus giving our staff an opportunity to thoroughly disinfect the treatment tables IN-BETWEEN EVERY SINGLE PATIENT.
Please call us if you have any questions: 918-296-7587
